Just to be bolshy – I don’t like hydrangeas; not when I meet them in person.
But I like this photo. It’s partly the colours and partly the close up view. It makes the flower look like a nosegay off very pretty little ones instead of a blob on a lump.
(You can tell I’m grumpy and tired this morning! Nice to have cheering photos like this on bad days!)
P.S. I keep wondering about your hawthorn trees. In the spring, the ones round here were terribly disappointing. Hardly noticed the blossom. Usually it’s like a row of weddings. But now it’s autumn, there are masses and masses of berries. I don’t know how that can be – but I’m pleased. They too are cheering. (Very!) L.
I was going to say i don’t like hydrangeas but Lucy said it first! I can say, i’ve never like them UNTIL this. Thanx for starting my day with the visual equivalent of a gentle hug and a cuppa in bed. 80)
I confess to not growing hydrangeas in my own garden – but just picking them from other peoples at this time of year – as I really love the colours of the fading flower heads, absolute works of art, or as Happy M. so beautifully put it – posh old ladies knickers.
