I have enjoyed perusing your beautiful images and insightful comments.
I have just come in from my garden. I’ve spent the day weeding and clearing, a bit of pruning and digging about. Smelling the earth and feeling the sunshine. I love the rich smells this time of year, the delicacy of the breezes, the stunning simple beauty of the wild violets that carpet my wooded lot.
I am also an artist. I was thinking about artists and their gardens while working today. It seems most of my friends, who are artists, also garden. It started me thinking about the reasons beyond the obvious that artists are attracted to gardening; so a bit of research was what was needed. I did a Google search for ‘artists gardens’ and found your lovely site. What a treasure!
I have a blog that I started so I could post images of my work. I’m finding that I need multiple blogs to cover all the interests. I felt one that addressed how artists use and need their gardens would be a good starting place. Or maybe just a place I can talk about the wonders of it all.
Thanks. I’ve had a lovely time wandering through your gardens. If and when I get my blog, may I add your link?
Oh, by the way, I just became a mother-in-law last September. I know exactly how you feel. I too have a wonderful daughter-in-law, but this does change things a bit. Now we have more time for all those plans we were polishing while we were nurturing our children. Good luck in everything.
