Good news and Bad news – which do you want first?
Mice decided to have a party in the greenhouse last night – they danced, then feasted on sweet pea seeds!
Interestingly they only went for the seeds in flower pots – they left the ones in the cardboard tubes from the inside of kitchen roll, which probably explains why I have not had this problem before. I do know that mice are partial to sweet pea seeds, and this year I ran out of cardboard tubes and put the excess seed in flower pots.
I just have a vision of two mice sitting comfortably on either side of the flowerpots munching at the seeds!
The Good News is that my black cow parsley (Anthriscus sylvestris Ravenswing) has germinated.

It is quite a dull picture and I am probably the only person who is excited by this (They have taken nearly a year to germinate)
So below is the tub that one of my sons sent me for Mothers day. A wonderful treat of seasonal colour.

Almost a YEAR? You are patience personified! I’ve looked at some seeds that require that long to germinate and figure I would forget about them and something else would happen to them in the meantime. You must be ecstatic!
2 things. 1st, if I was still there, the cats would have kept the mice away. 2nd, does that mean the price has gone up?
I shall start saving my cardboard tubes now for next year.
Pleased that you cow parsley has germinated. Patience personified is a good way to describe you and your garden.
I don’t know about that kind of parsley, guess I will look it up. Yes, those plants do look bright and cheerful. Mother’s Day must be different there, we are still aways from it.
By the way, the address on your comment link isn’t working, unless I am doing something wrong, which wouldn’t surprise me.

Thanks for giving me a visit. Could you order the Sun Calc from the link I provided? I don’t know how to translate the cost.
I’ve never heard of cow parsley. Is it the same as the green parsley used for cooking? I’m not sure I could wait a whole year for something to germinate. I’ve been waiting about 5 days for some seeds to germinate, and I’m getting… not impatient, really, but a little tired of waiting.
Horrible mice – how dare they! Maybe I ought to see to my Sweet peas before they get eaten as well… So, thanks for the warning – I hope you have more seeds to sow.

Do we all need to collect toilet roll inners to help combat the mice?I could collect quite a few, not that Ive got a problem, just that a lot of people use my loos. Or you could just put food out for them.
Last week I collected egg shells for the vicar (Linda) to grow cress people in. I think she was getting the children to paint and grow them, not herself. But if thats what god wants, he/ she must have. I always seem to have things for people that I can collect. Anyone need a chocolate brown toilet or sink, the bath been bagged.

The mice probably decided to have a tea party, feasting on delicacies and congratulating themselves for their good find. I guess toilet paper rolls are the order of the day…
The black parsley is beautiful and worth the wait … some things just are. This was one of them.
Oops … I also meant to say that I figure you raised your son well – that is a lovely pot!
